Our Mission
Nrithya Samarpanam was established in 2012 to promote South Asian culture and educate our community about Indian Classical dance forms. The company has performed at prestigious festivals across India and the United States, including the World Culture Festival in Washington, D.C., Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, and Natyanjali. Their mission is to preserve Indian heritage by nurturing students into passionate torchbearers of classical arts through integrated training in both theory and performance. Nrithya Samarpanam collaborates with leading dance institutions nationally and internationally and is a proud member of UNESCO’s International Dance Council, fostering cultural exchange and artistic excellence.
GuruOur Guru, Smt. Gayathri Sudhakar is trained in Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam for more than 15 years. She has been in the performing arts field for 25 years, and is the Artistic Director of our dance company. Initially, she received her training in the Kerala Kalamandalam Bani and later trained in the traditional Tanjore Bani. Her Gurus are Kalanilayalm Shri. S.S. Nair, Smt. Shobha S.Nair, Smt. Girija Venugopal, and Smt.Balamaniamma.
After completing her Master's and M.Phil in Chemistry, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Chennai. Her passion towards dance has driven her to wholeheartedly focus on the performing arts field. She is very involved in teaching new pieces and continues to delve into the vast world of dance by pursuing her Master's in Fine Arts (Classical Dance) under the guidance of Nadanamamani Sri. K. Krishnaraju. Moreover, she has also learned the Nattuvangam from Shri. Madurai R. Muralidharan. |
